Abstract
The paper emphasizes the role of the gesture categories in the simulated behavior. We focused on the main gesture classification in literature -Paul Ekman's. This study is a content analysis of nonverbal signals within the simulated behavior. By analyzing 48 role-play recordings in which the participants had to lie, we confirmed our hypotheses. The number of regulators decreases about 2 times, the number of affect displays increases 1.5 times and the adaptors increase about 5 times.
