Call for Reviewers: Romanian Sociology Review (Sociologie Românească)

2020-07-14

The Romanian Sociology Review Editorial Board is looking to expand our team of expert peer reviewers and therefore we invite you to join our team.

If you are interested, please send your response or other inquiries related to our call to sociologieromaneasca@arsociologie.ro  Your e-mail should contain details regarding your research experience, publication track and areas of interest, institutional affiliation (s), and a short cv or link to your personal and/or professional webpage. We welcome potential reviewers at any stage of academic career that could assess papers in English, French, and Romanian. Please note that being a reviewer is voluntary, there is no fee provided.

The Editorial Board will commit to not overburden reviewers, so depending on the topic of proposed manuscripts, reviewers should expect a maximum of 1-2 review requests per year.

The Romanian Sociology Review uses a double-blind peer review process. Once a paper has been assessed for suitability by the editor, it is sent for review to two independent, anonymous experts, who will have to fill up a separate review standard form. The review standard form contains general as well as specific evaluations, observations, critiques, and suggestions for improving the paper. The reviewers’ comments and suggestions are sent back to the author for further changes. The average time for review is three-four weeks. Along the process, the identity of the reviewers and those of the author(s) are strictly anonymized.

Further details regarding our journal can be found here: https://revistasociologieromaneasca.ro.

Sincerely,

The Editorial Team of Romanian Sociology Review

Sociologie Românească (Romanian Sociology Review) is the official journal of the Romanian Sociological Association. First established in 1936, The Romanian Sociology Review is dedicated to promoting sociological knowledge and inquiry related to a broad-range of social processes. Covering different topics and domains, including gender studies, political issues, social inequalities, education, organization & labour studies, criminology and migration studies, the review’s focus is oriented towards (but not limited to) empirical research from a sociological and historical approach.

The Romanian Sociology Review is an open-access, double blind peer-reviewed review, edited by Research Institute for Quality of Life (Romanian Academy). RS welcomes original research papers with innovative methods, theoretical and conceptual research papers, case studies, book reviews and conference reviews. We encourage studies with different methodologies and theoretical approaches that could add value to already established normative ways of doing research, but also approaches that give space to alternative methodologies and critical theories. We are particularly interested in contributions focused on Eastern and Central Europe or that could sustain collaborations between scholars across borders and disciplines. Articles that include Romania in their analyses are particularly welcomed, however we are committed to expand this focus.

How to submit: www.revistasociologieromaneasca.ro/sr/submission-form

The contributions should be sent in English, French or Romanian. Please see the instruction for authors for full details: www.revistasociologieromaneasca.ro/sr/submission-details.
