Abstract

This article reviews some of the studies based on current field research in Romania. These studies seem to fall into two categories. The first one consists of research using anthropological concepts and theories, but focused on processes and groups in Romania. The most common topics are: migration; natural resources administration and changes of property rights; ethnic groups; markets, exchange, shopping and consumption; gender, body and the status of women. The second group gathers research carried out by researchers from Romania on cultural spaces outside Romania. Numerically fewer, such texts dealt with Romanian communities abroad, clothing and culture or religious processes.
