Abstract

Rural nonagricultural economy in Romania of the years 2000 is approached in a descriptive and explanatory way as to formulate policy implications. Employment and income sources are the key aspects of rural nonagricultural economy addressed in the study. The sharp declining rural to urban commuting is the second focus of the study. Employment and income sources are used as to assess the social structure of rural communities and to formulate rural development policies implications.
