Abstract

This article makes an evaluation regarding the processes of social mobility in rural European areas comparing with dynamics reaches in rural Romanian space. There are also exposes the main characteristics of the sociological approach in Europe and in Romania during the last five decades. Both rural European and rural Romanian areas had an evolution with upside-down regarding social mobility, all tendencies being function of socioeconomical development in those spaces. In Romania, as in many others Central and Eastern European countries the beginning of 90s comes with a sociopolitical fracture having a great influence on many social processes, including on social mobility.
